Abandoned: Kenyatta's Orphans

Kenyatta National Hospital is the only government run, public hospital in Kenya's capital, Nairobi. It is also the only health care facility that will take in abandoned children. The hospital receives over 100 children a year who have been left literally at their door, abandoned on the streets or had their mothers abscond in the middle of the night.

Patient overcrowding by the poverty stricken population and lack of funds from the government leaves the staff at Kenyatta overworked. They must become the surrogate mothers and fathers to these orphans as they diagnose, treat and care for them. However, their dedication and compassion shows the best of humanity in the most daunting of circumstances.
